I'm so excited to announce that I am one of the Colour Confidence Team working on the new Little Colourful Dress campaign for Dove Invisible Dry deodorant. This exciting role as one of their Brand Ambassadors is all about encouraging women from all walks of life to embrace colour in their wardrobe and ditch the boring black, we all desperately cling on to and wear on a daily basis. I couldn’t be more passionate about this idea as I adore colour. What is not to love? Colour makes us feel so happy, is super flattering and there is a range of hues to suit every skin tone.
To help with the launch I have come up with some top tips I wanted to share with you helping you to embrace the bold stuff. Here they are:
Alex’s top tip on embracing colour
Colour can be more empowering to wear than dark tones. We often think of black as a ‘forgiving colour’ and that it ‘hides a multitude of sins’ but this couldn’t be further from the truth. It can make us look drained, can dull our complexion and certainly isn't feminine or good for our confidence. Colour is great for all occasions be it a special event or something eye-catching for your work wardrobe and nothing beats a little colourful dress to make a statement of confidence; overall we give a much better impression to others when we embrace colour.

The campaign launched late last month to the Press and Media in Soho at Doves’ Colour Confidence Boutique. I was on hand with lots of colourful dresses to explain exactly how colour works. It was a great day, wonderful to meet everyone and so much fun. I wore my favourite bright red dress from Reiss and my super out there Shrimps jacket from Net a Porter for the event.
