Septum Piercings

Long gone are the days when rebellious piercings were all about Gap Year travels, joining an indie band or working in a tattoo parlour. Now, they have become more mainstream and through the recent decades there have been all sorts of body piercings that have been in fashion. Be it the tongue, belly, nipple, you name a body part, its all been branded. The most noticeable of recent years being, the cuff, worn top right of the ear.  However, it kind of lost it on the cool stakes when Jennifer Aniston was snapped on Instagram with her bestie showing off her new ear piercing. Thanks to Jen it was suddenly fine for forty somethings and Yummy Mummy's to rush out and get one done and be 'oh so edgy', not exactly what the Hoxton massive wants to aspire to these days! They have in turn looked to their style guru FKA Twigs hence why it has become all about the septum ring. For those of you that don’t know what or where that is, its worn through the nose! Think bull ring! US Vogue have written articles about this trend which must mean its in ‘fashion’ and a heap of celebrities have been photographed wearing theirs in recent months.

Im not sure I am going to rush out to get this piercing done but if I did decide to follow my nose, I would go to Cool Steel in Camden, the best piercing parlour in London by far.  I think for the moment I may stick to trying out a non pierced version, thankfully there are plenty about...
