Tie Dye

Anything tie dye I love, be it for clothes, interiors or accessories. I would wear it all day everyday if I could but sometimes Urban life doesn’t adhere to the ‘Hippie Dippie’ dream look that trend epitomizes. Remember, a little goes a long way with this look and it can look brilliant on everyone if you wear it sparingly.  For example try a cool tie dye top with some skinny jeans to get the ‘Karen’ from Californication look who, incidentally, I think, has possibly the best wardrobe of any character on screen. A long oversized coat only worn with block colours underneath can work well and the same goes for jumpers and trousers – tie dye is best worn alone and remember, just one piece per outfit and steer away from dresses or skirts, somehow a little bit too much.

The only trouble with this trend, it's expensive and hasn’t really hit the high street and nor is it likely to. Tie Dye is on the catwalk loads this season, take Fendi and Cavalli – their shows were full of it and instead of going for the peace, love vibe they went more for the moody blue textiles like Raquel Allegra’s collection. Reminiscent of textiles, art teachers and all things eccentric. The only one to go for the full on ‘lentil’ look was Jeremy Scott.
